Logo
The logo arranges the four letters C, Q, U, and T into a compact 2×2 module, keeping clear CQUT recognition even when the mark is extracted on its own. The gold node at the lower right of Q replaces a traditional tail stroke, completing the letterform while pointing to the open connections between open-source projects. It uses rounded single-weight strokes with the classic blue-and-gold palette, retaining enough detail at small sizes and low resolutions.
Depending on the context and identity positioning, two versions are provided:
- Square logo (unpackaged): Keeps the original square structure, for small icon contexts such as avatars, browser favicons, and app icons.
- Horizontal logo (with divider): The mark accompanied by a vertical divider, laid out horizontally next to
OpenProjectand the Chinese descriptor, serving as the community's primary brand identifier.
Primary Version
The full-color version is the default style: Brand Blue (#0068B7) for the main body and gold (#DDBA8F) for the connector node. The core logo must never receive gradients, shadows, or extra outlines.
The solid dark version suits light, complex, or single-color printing; the solid light version suits deep-blue, black, or dark-toned photo backgrounds. Never use a pure-white version on light surfaces.
Clear Space
Clear space is measured in X, the width of the logo mark. The minimum safe distance in everyday use is 1/4X; when the logo scales, the clear space must scale proportionally. No other text, icons, or crop edges may intrude into this boundary.
Minimum Size
There is no maximum size for the logo. The minimum print width is 10mm and the minimum on-screen width is 6px. Actual sizes can be adjusted based on layout space and visual clarity.
| Use | Minimum size | Version used |
|---|---|---|
| favicon | 16 px | Full-color primary logo |
| Nav & buttons | 24 px | Full-color or single-color |
| GitHub avatar | 64 px | App icon version |
At very small sizes between 16–23 px, the gold node may be hidden to keep the core C/Q outlines clear.
Backgrounds
Choose the version based on how light or dark the background is:
- White / light backgrounds: use the color or dark version
- Primary brand blue / dark / black backgrounds: use the white version
- Bright image backgrounds: use the color or dark version
- Dark image backgrounds: use the white version
- Gray backgrounds: use the color version on 0%–20% gray, avoid 30%–60% gray, use the white version on 70%–100% gray
Horizontal Signature
The horizontal signature used on the website and promotional materials combines the logo mark with a vertical divider, the English name "OpenProject", and the Chinese descriptor "重庆理工大学开源计划". In editable templates, the text parts are kept as editable text so contributors can swap in specific project names.
